Consider
MSF to manage your projects
As much or maybe more important than the technology that is used
in a computer-related project is the process or method that is
used to control the project. Without a doubt, it’s a disaster
prescription not to use any methodology but, on the other hand,
the years have taught us that to use a "very protocolic" methodology
(in a sense that it demands a long and detailed series of steps
and documents) can be unproductive, cause delays and wearing downs.
Paradoxically, a methodology of projects full of details and not flexible
can be as dangerous as not to use a methodology.
In this sense we have found that MSF (Microsoft Solutions Framework)
is placed in a right average between these two ends. MSF attacks
the different aspects that are due to manage in a computer-related
project:
•
The constitution and responsibilities of the human team
•
The phases and deliverables of the development process
•
The monitoring and continuous mitigación of risks
•
The distributed administration of responsibilities and the scalability
of the model
Obviously, MSF establishes the necessity to make meetings and to create documents
and other deliverables, but it has reasonable and light exigencies, which increases
the possibilities that the average team does not desert in the use of the methodology.
Our experience with MSF has been brief but satisfactory, and that’s the
reason why we suggest it’s adoption for your projects.
